Helmke Works Himself Into A Pre-Ejaculation Lather Over The Prospect Of Stealing Our Rights (and Vanderboegh Throws Cold Water On Him).

Paul Helme has a long piece here on what he intends to do with our liberty and property now that the Obamanoids have taken over. A sample:

New Day Dawning for Gun Violence Prevention
The Brady Campaign , To Prevent Gun Violence - January 21, 2009
By Paul Helmke, Brady Campaign president

Last year at this time, I said that America was turning a corner on the gun issue, and the watershed events of 2008 confirmed that prediction.

The past year brought fundamental change to the way we understand and talk about gun violence prevention. The year also offered hope for the future, as the Brady Campaign endorsed – and our grassroots activists helped elect – Barack Obama as President of the United States, along with many other new officeholders who support taking steps to reduce gun violence.

Looking ahead to 2009, we are optimistic about making significant progress in our fight for common sense gun laws to help make our families and communities safer. . .

Make no mistake, however, there is much work to do. There are only a handful of national gun control laws on the books today, and even those have loopholes. To help keep guns away from dangerous people:

We need to require Brady criminal background checks for all gun sales in this country, including at gun shows.

We need to restrict access to military-style assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition magazines.

We need to limit bulk sales of handguns to cut illegal gun trafficking.

We need to crack down on the 1.2% of corrupt gun dealers who account for almost 60% of crime guns in America.

We need to give law enforcement agencies like the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) the funding and staff they need to disrupt the illegal gun trade.

It really is a new day for the gun violence prevention movement in America. Yet if we are to build on the successes of 2008 and take advantage of the many new opportunities ahead in 2009, we will need your help.

To which I replied on the website:

New Day Dawning"? You have NO idea.

Pass an new ban on semi-automatic rifles of the sort you envision and have stated publicly that should ban several classes of heretofore legal weapons, and watch what happens.

Pass another law authorizing the federal seizure of total control over ALL private transfers of arms (the deliberately misnamed lie called the "gun show loophole"), and watch what happens.

"The time has come, the walrus said to talk of many things," like armed civil disobedience to the collectivist pukes such as Helmke who wish to seize more of our traditional, natural and God-given liberty and property rights.

For 75 years we've been pushed back from the free exercise of our right to arms. Each time, we went, grumbling. This time, Helmke, we will NOT back up. This time you will have to come and get us. This time, we will fight.

In the interim between the last time you felt this cocky, the election of Bill Clinton, and now, two things have happened -- Waco and Bill Clinton's adoption of rules of engagement for the Serbians that made the politicians, media and ideological support structure of the Milosevic regime legitimate targets of war. We have studied both. So should you, before you take this nation to the brink of civil war.

Be careful what you wish for, Helmke, you (and we) may get it.

There is nothing that we can say to convince these communists that they are wrong. To them, the words, "shall not be infringed", mean absolutely nothing. Total, absolute, state control,(of course, with them in power) over every aspect of our lives is their goal.

Lenin, Stalin, Mussolini Hitler, Mao, and currently Mugabe, writ large, are their role models.

Get ready, spiritually, physically, mentally.

The excrement has already started to hit the fan.

No. You are simply waiting patiently for this country to be completely disarmed, so then, you can do the things to your "political opponents" that the Bolsheviks done to former constituents of the Czar Nicholas Romanov after 1917. Not that I am supporting the Czar, he was just as a bloodthirsty genocide-happy fiend as the Bolshies, but the Bolsheviks are FAR FAR WORSE.

Fuck out of here. Common sense my ass. The last time someone passed "common sense" gun laws in South Africa, many hundreds of innocent people died, at the hands of the NANNY STATE.

Hey Idahobob, should Kruchev be included? Not as bad as Stalin, who by his own estimate, elimated 35 million. But he called Kruchev " the beast".

The give away of all of this is these people do not care about people dying from murder. If they did being in power and having media coverage, they would not be able to stand for the 3,500 babies that are butchered to death each week in America. Let's be honest its not about caring people who are trying to do the right thing but are misguided. No, not by a long shot. These people are hard core Marxist who have every intention to disarm the America people because they have plans for a whole new style of government for America. That government that they want to inflict on the American people will never be realized with a armed citizen population.
These people are not misguided but they are very evil bloodthirsty Marxist.

But Mister Helmke, will the passage of any of your unconstitutional agenda MAKE you any safer? Somehow I kinda doubt it.

You make it sound like there would be an organized resistance to ending private transfers and the banning of "assault weapon". I'm not turning mine in, and I'll never ask for permission, but most will. They'll say "who needs more than 10 rounds?" Waco happened before the "assault weapons" ban. I hate to say it, but there will be NO armed resistance to further "bans." People will stock up, and then the prices will steadily rise. We can only delay this with our activism. Hopefully, we can delay it indefinitely. I know this will sound blasphemous, but if the people won't rebel against the FED or the "bailouts", which, as Thomas Jefferson said eats "out their substance" why would they rebel against a government who lets them keep guns for sporting purposes and protection against lone thugs, if not for "militia" purposes. They shutter at the thought of being in a militia. That's crazy they say. They may as well replace it with "the Department of Homeland Security is necessary to the security of a free state, except that licensed, registered revolvers may be kept for the darkies across the street." That gentleman, is the cold reality of the 2A in the 21st century, notwithstanding all we keyboard warriors.

Zach,

You are wrong. If you read more of this website, you might change your mind. For example, see above, "One Hundred Heads."

I wonder if Helmke has even realized that the talk of fighting back puts himself squarely in the group of targets? probably not. but news for those who keep pushing for criminalizing our right to bear arms.......you are not exempt from retribution.

I question whether Helmke would be a legitimate target. He has a First Amendment right to say what he wants. The legitimate targets are those who pass laws, and those who attempt to enforce them.

Abraham Lincoln asked, "Am I to shoot the poor soldier who deserts, but not harm a hair on the head of the wily agitator who induces him to desert?" Well, I think the answer to that is yes. You are not to harm a hair on the head of the wily agitator, nor on the head of someone who argues for a violation of our rights. Only those who actually violate them are legitimate targets.

Make no mistake: Helmke will only be satisfied with the kind of restrictions on firearms ownership that we suffer under here in the UK.

Read this for an idea of how the chipping away at the Right to own firearms becomes a sledgehammer of legislation designed to disarm the populace:

Helmke is a perfectly legiimate target.

As Marcus Tullius Cicero wrote: "A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself.

For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear."

like I said, helmke does indeed become a legitimate target, in my eyes, and since i'm not a lincoln fan considering the shredding he did to the constitution, his quote doesn't do much for me.
