Your Lies Aren't Working Any MoreSubmitted by Bill St. Clair on Sat, 2009-08-22 06:06.
by IloIlo M. Jones To all the Politicians and others paid with stolen tax dollars (and to those who have been their victims, too): We learn, pretty much while we are still children, that telling lies doesn't work very well at getting us what we want. After getting caught a few times telling lies about our cookie-eating habits, or about who really broke the window with the baseball, we figure out that we might as well take the medicine for our mistakes, missteps, misdeeds, and for all our just plain old messes. We learn — sometimes because we are punished, and sometimes because being honest is better received than we had anticipated. As children, we all hear about George and the cherry tree. As children, we all hear about the boy who cried wolf. And we hear about the wolf disguised as Grandma. We learn that lies and crime do not pay. These lessons, whether from fairy tales or from our own young life experiences, teach us the objective value of honesty: you cannot go wrong by telling the truth, no matter how much you don't want to tell the truth. These days, almost every time I open a link sent by someone who laughs at the follies of government bureaucrats and politicians, it is a link to some hilarious video, such as , It's about politician lying, or about cops and military smacking people around in an attempt to protect their buddies from these lies. Lies about where the money goes. Lies about what the future holds. What happened? What happened to the people who hold all these political offices, that they don't get it that the lies aren't working any more? In Austin, Texas, when some political types showed up to soft-sell the health care plan, one politician made the mistake of citing the Veteran's Administration as an example of how wonderful national healthcare could be. Wrong. Veterans in the audience tried to tell this politician how bad the VA system is: a known, openly discussed fact among almost anyone who has had contact as a patient with the VA medical system clearly knows how broken the vast majority of this system has become. The stories, investigations, disgruntlement, and horrible results are legion. Yet, this same politician, in spite of being faced with first-hand accounts of the problems with the VA system, and no matter that even the most power-damaged bureaucrats are sometimes forced to admit to the ineptitude of the VA system, this politician stood there in front of everyone, and as petulantly and stubbornly as a small child who refuses to give up the Easter Bunny, commented that he was still proud of the VA system. If you want to be highly amused watching the evidence that politicians have not figured out that the lies aren't working any more, go take a look–and have a laugh–at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-Bpshk5nX0 No, you will not see these types of demonstrations reported by government-licensed media. You will not find coverage of these events, any more than coverage of the daily police brutality and violations of our human rights, will be reported by the media that is beholden to government for its license to operate. But the people know. By now, the insults, injuries, injustices, and confiscations of personal property have reached such proportions that either we have been personally violated, or we know someone how has been. We know someone whose dog was killed, whose home was trashed, whose property was seized, who went to prison, or we have had our own life viciously torn apart by the armed robbers and malicious sadists who serve their masters in government offices. The people know. They are speaking out, marching, stepping forward, and declaring their lines in the sand. The people are fed up with the robbery, kidnapping, thuggery, killings and the lies. It's past time to send one final warning to everyone holding a public office; to everyone who is taking a living from a corrupt, bankrupt system that lives off of the stolen taxes robbed from you and me. It is time for those guys to wake up and get honest work. It is time for them to quit pretending they are helping us, that their theft and viciousness are anything except a venal, dishonest attempt to steal more of what we work so hard to save. It is time to send them this message, whether on a placard, a poster, a web site, or a postcard: Trust me, guys. This is the truth. Your lies aren't working any more. I suggest that we all send simple postcards to every politico we know — to all those people living on stolen dollars. Just a simple postcard that says, "In case you had not noticed, wake up! The lies aren't working any more. We don't believe anything you are saying." You can sign it or not, but you can send it to your local government, local government schools, your state politicians and bureaucrats, and of course, to your federal friends. Someone has to call them on their lies. The lies don't work, and actually, they never did work against thinking people. But now the game is up, and there are very few who still believe that those politicians when they tell us that they did not eat the cookies, or break the window, or steal our future with their gifts to their buddies. Very few still believe that any politician or bureaucrat is doing what they do for any reason other than to fill their own pockets, by stealing from our pockets. Very few believe anymore that any politician or bureaucrat is doing any more than playing a shell game with cracked shells and fake money. When we were children, sometimes we were gullible and could be persuaded by lies that someone meant us well even as they persuaded us to trade our delicious cookie for their useless stick. Better to give up the cookie than to be hit with the stick held by the known bully. But no more. The lies aren't working any more, because now, we are better informed. And better armed. We have ways to share facts that you would rather we did not know. We talk to each other by cell phone, in chat rooms, on internet video sites, and we share with each other those bits of truth that cannot be denied by your lies. Your carefully constructed government indoctrination centers called public schools no longer work when everyone can click on a video and see for themselves the brutal beatings and thoughtless taserings, as well as the senseless killings, of harmless people by power-crazed cops. See these "peace officer" you have hired and continue to hire right here at http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=54162036 Your promises of more cake and circuses for us all, if only we will pay a bit more taxes, no longer works when we can watch you spreading our money among your friends who financed your political campaigns and who treat you to hundred-dollar bottles of champagne. Your pretended kindness and concern no longer fool us when we see you sequestering your family in some safe haven surrounded by well-armed thugs, all paid for by us, while you tell us to send our children to drug-ridden schools and turn in the few weapons we have for the protection of our precious families. We do not believe your lies any more. Figure it out, while you watch your looted income disappear, as more people stop paying taxes. Figure it out, while you watch businesses stop paying taxes and closing down because they cannot afford to operate under your taxes and regulations. Figure it out, as you watch the number of people who attend your talks–and turn their back on you, or hiss at you–greeting you with open hostility. The game is up; we don't believe you any more. Get out of government and go get honest work. Find a job where your income depends on you doing some work that is actually productive and of value to other productive people. Figure it out, you thugs and liars. Figure it out, you bullies and cheats. Figure it out, you politicians and bureaucrats. Figure it out, you corrupt cops and judges. Grow up, learn your lessons, and stop telling all these lies. Your lies aren't working any more. You think you can hold a gun to our heads while you lie about your motives. We have you figured out. Your lies aren't working any more, and we have nothing left for you to rob from us. And for those still working at honest jobs, never mind: don't send postcards or messages, come to think of it: it is too late for that. Just stop contributing to their psychotic flailing about: get a job that pays just enough for your immediate needs, and starve the liars and robbers by drying up the pockets of their intended victims—that's you and me who are the intended victims, by the way, in case you are wondering who I am writing about that has been trying to survive while living on this end of the gun. Face it, you robbers and liars: we don't have to attend your shoot-outs, we have figured out how to stay out of your slave-labour prisons: we can drop out, shut down, be still, live in peace and cooperation, and ignore you. We have figured it out. We know better now. add new comment | quote | 1046 reads

QuotesEvery man, woman, and responsible child has an unalienable individual, civil, Constitutional, and human right to obtain, own, and carry, openly or concealed, any weapon -- rifle, shotgun, handgun, machinegun, anything -- any time, any place, without asking anyone's permission. -- L. Neil Smith Reread that pesky first clause of the Second Amendment. It doesn't say what any of us thought it said. What it says is that infringing the right of the people to keep and bear arms is treason. What else do you call an act that endangers "the security of a free state"? And if it's treason, then it's punishable by death. I suggest due process, speedy trials, and public hangings. -- L. Neil Smith Based on 253 journal articles, 99 books, 43 government publications, and some of its own empirical work, the panel couldn't identify a single gun control regulation that reduced violent crime, suicide or accidents. -- John Lott, commenting on the National Academy of Sciences report (PDF) on gun control laws Zero Aggression Principle ("Zap") "A libertarian is a person who believes that no one has the right, under any circumstances, to initiate force against another human being, or to advocate or delegate its initiation. Those who act consistently with this principle are libertarians, whether they realize it or not. Those who fail to act consistently with it are not libertarians, regardless of what they may claim." -- L. Neil Smith Formerly called the "Non-Aggression Principle", or "NAP" Why Did It Have to be... Guns? Make no mistake: all politicians -- even those ostensibly on the side of guns and gun ownership -- hate the issue and anyone, like me, who insists on bringing it up. They hate it because it's an X-ray machine. It's a Vulcan mind-meld. It's the ultimate test to which any politician -- or political philosophy -- can be put. If a politician isn't perfectly comfortable with the idea of his average constituent, any man, woman, or responsible child, walking into a hardware store and paying cash -- for any rifle, shotgun, handgun, machinegun, anything -- without producing ID or signing one scrap of paper, he isn't your friend no matter what he tells you. If he isn't genuinely enthusiastic about his average constituent stuffing that weapon into a purse or pocket or tucking it under a coat and walking home without asking anybody's permission, he's a four-flusher, no matter what he claims. What his attitude -- toward your ownership and use of weapons -- conveys is his real attitude about you. And if he doesn't trust you, then why in the name of John Moses Browning should you trust him? -- L. Neil Smith "Tell me," I was once asked, "What do you think about gun control? Give me the short answer." To which I replied, "If you try to take our firearms we will kill you." -- Mike Vanderboegh Also from The Atlanta Declaration: ... like going to the bathroom, breathing, eating, sleeping, or making love, it turns out that self-defense is a bodily function one cannot safely or effectively delegate to a second party. -- L. Neil Smith This does not mean that "Marijuana should be available by prescription." It means that morphine sulfate should be available in five pound bags at the supermarket for a couple of bucks, like sugar... but probably in a different aisle, to avoid confusion. -- Vin Suprynowicz The state can only survive as long as a majority is programmed to believe that theft isn't wrong if it's called taxation or asset forfeiture or eminent domain, that assault and kidnapping isn't wrong if it's called arrest, that mass murder isn't wrong if it's called war. -- Bill St. Clair |
