I pass my first half century on the planet tomorrow. My mom gave me some money. I bought a toy tonight. Click for hi-res version (1161x327, 51K).

It came with two books:

Well, Happy Birthday, Bill!
You've got a great mom who'll gift you enough moola to get a beautiful present like that! Looks like you've got some nice range time coming up!

I kinda like the stamps that go into Saiga manuals. I'm not sure why, but they give it a bit of a "personal" feel I suppose.

What caliber is that? I thought you had one in .308 already, and given the curved magazine I presume this is 7.62x39mm.

It's 7.62x39, a new caliber

It's 7.62x39, a new caliber for me. I have an M1A in .308, but no other Saiga.

Nice! Looks like a Saiga 20 gauge to me. I've been meaning to pickup one of these for myself for some time now. Seems there is always something something else though keeping me broke ... like ammo! :)
