For the mindsnapper, one "jerks" the flow of time.

That can be done either with "mass-energy" or with "hole-energy".  The thing

is to place a very sudden and sharp-rise-time pulse of energy.

"Mass-energy" would be "explosively" disruptive, while "hole-energy" would

be "implosively" disruptive.  Either will do the job.
