Goes together with the several giant radials I saw passing over Huntsville on 3 January.  The "bad guys" were pushing that weather stuff right along.  Did get the snow and ice on Atlanta, Birmingham (90 miles or so south of here) etc.

 

Looks like our guys may have had the Big Flasher working hard to keep reducing some of the charge in those storms and cut them down considerably.

 

SecDef Cohen's 1997 statement is more appropriate all the time.
