Apparently, perpetual war has been considered a necessity for some time, perhaps for several decades or more.

I considered the arguments presented in the book to be slick sophistry. Needless to say, I paid the price for my doubts and written opinions by receiving the instructor's utter contempt and a mediocre grade in spite of otherwise excellent performance. Most learned early on that one "goes along to get along" as far as (to use a 60's term) "the system" is concerned.

Even now, as the welfare/warfare state known as America plummets down the slippery slope to ruin, I doubt if the perpetual-war-is-good crowd will see the light. Since many in the political segment of that camp are prepaid military-industrial whores anyway, it probably wouldn't make much difference even if they did.

Thankfully, Dr. Paul has never bought into the myth. However, I think there's a pretty good chance that assassinating him would make him a martyr, and I'm sure the puppet masters have considered that as well.

Not long ago I was reading through some of the comments posted about Ron Paul videos at youtube, and I ran across this:

"As a Brit, I would like to state in my opinion Ron Paul is the President America [and rest of the world] Needs.

"But lets imagine for one minute, that you could actually reverse the lobotomy the American Media preformed on the American electorate. And coupling that with the improbability that he even manages to beat the rigged US voting system.

"Sadly he will be lucky to see the year out, as the Industrial Military Complex will do a JFK on him."

That Limey has some good insight. Since Arlington National Cemetery wasn't established until 1864, in the thick of the War to Prevent Southern Independence, it's first interments were the casualties of that war. Specifically, the dead were those combatants fighting on behalf of an out-of-control federal government in the iron grip of a tyrant who was waging an illegal war against the very citizens he had sworn an oath to defend.

Subsequent wars that contributed to the population of this oversized dormitory of the dead were no different. In fact, most if not all were worse, wars of aggression against foreign nations that either had done nothing to endanger the United States or had been deliberately provoked into attacking it in order to defend themselves and their survival.liberranterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00555275410576294081noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32869165.post-20483147120766942532007-11-09T09:14:00.000-07:002007-11-09T09:14:00.000-07:00One reason I came to loathe politics is the terrib...One reason I came to loathe politics is the terrible bad faith endemic to the system.

Yes of course Ron Paul draws this kind of support. But let's compare it to mainstream support for other candidates: an irrational arrogant historically blind ignorant contempt for the millions of people the united states has murdered and impoverished in the middle east over the last decades, and a pig-headed desire to keep piling it on in the face of the almost certain economic calamity it is going to bring on us.

Wherever you stand, you have bad company. Ron Paul's problem supporters are just going to keep being who they are, and they won't gain political power, no matter who wins. They are essentially irrelevant, except as a bad faith tool for a lot of people incapable of considering their own serious evil inclinations.thesilentcriticnoreply@blogger.com
