In other words, it was already at war for 1100 years before the US was founded.

As for Dhimmi US:

The US has not formally submitted to Islam. But when US troops are fighting and dying in defence of Muslims, it is de facto Dhimmi.

The same is true when the State Dept. bans any negative references to Jihad; when the US bombs Belgrade and establishes Muslim states in the Balkans; when the US arms and trains Muslim Palestinians, Afghan Mujihadeen; when the US media refuses to expose Obama's balatant lies about his Muslim background and upbringing; when the US ambassador to the UN is a Muslim citizen of Afghanistan; when the US president lies that "Islam is a religion of peace."

I find it funny (and disturbing) that many critics of the US try to claim that the US is at war with Islam. The opposite seems to be the case.brianakirahttp://brianakira.wordpress.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32869165.post-5506677181409592762008-01-12T16:09:00.000-07:002008-01-12T16:09:00.000-07:00Thank you for explaining the practice of dhimma fr...Thank you for explaining the practice of dhimma from a non-Likudnik perspective. It baffles me to see the "Live Free or Die" state go for a warmonger who will bankrupt this country (all candidates of all parties, except Ron Paul [and Dennis K except that he would still bankrupt us]).

Just amazing! "What everyone's looking at is what is the fastest way to get money out there," said a Bush aide.

So, those who forecasted properly, based on the actual conditions in the economy, those who were short traders, will be ripped off and their money indirectly given to those who forecasted poorly. THAT sounds like a recipe for fiscal sanity. There is now NO way to meaningfully participate in the markets since an administration can arbitrarily interfere with cause and effect. Imagine that at a bureaucrats whim your calculator or computer would substitute 2.5 for pi. Lots of good engineering is going to happen NOW.

And it gets better...
Emergency measures are now clearly on the agenda, apparently consisting of a mix of tax cuts for businesses and bungs for consumers.

Since the government isn't actually cutting spending we're just shifting from visible taxes to invisible taxes. It's like termites eating your home vs. having someone removing furniture -- you can at least account for missing furniture and take corrective actions. You don't know about the termites until the roof crashes down.

The country is officially insane.joconnor3http://www.blogger.com/profile/00793685202034508386noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32869165.post-32837571399077391812008-01-08T08:25:00.000-07:002008-01-08T08:25:00.000-07:00As is generally the case, great opinion piece. Getting the rest of the country to follow suit, short of total economic collapse, is going to be hard. I find it particularly hard to negotiate a set rate with the truckers. For those who do agree to a set rate you just know that they are agreeing because they need the work and that in the long run it is coming at the expense of their ability to build equity.I know of one contractor who spent $40,000 last month on diesel fuel alone. For a mid sized operation that is scary. Are wars abroad are being paid for through lost equity here. aAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32869165.post-50593504627479887052008-01-07T19:59:00.000-07:002008-01-07T19:59:00.000-07:00Readers interested in obtaining a hard copy of Wil...Readers interested in obtaining a hard copy of William Norman Grigg's new book, Liberty in Eclipse, can purchase a copy through eBay at:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Liberty-in-Eclipse_W0QQitemZ120207772385QQihZ002QQcategoryZ378QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Yeah, it's an obscenely long hyperlink.
