SAMPLE LETTER

You may copy and modify the following letter to send, under your signature, to your Congressman and Senators.  In TAKE ACTION! you will find a link to the e-mail addresses of your representatives.

Dear Congressman:

I am opposed to any legislation mandating a so-called patient bill of "rights."

A right is not the unearned claim to someone else's time or money, yet that is what will be mandated--forcibly required--by a patients' bill of "rights," which will force some individuals, against their will, to pay for the medical care of others.  This measure is yet another incremental step toward socialized medicine and the destruction of freedom in America.   "Rights" are not purchased at the price of depriving some--physicians and other health-care providers--of their actual right to life and liberty.  To violate the rights of one is, in principle, to violate the rights of all.

Regulations and mandates created the managed-care mess.  If you want to solve the problem, deregulate health care, do not create more regulations.

Sincerely,
