The NRA. Linda received an E-Mail this summer from one of the Board of Directors who was at the Annual Meeting saying the Board of The Civil Rights Defense Fund had met and approved and agreed to support her case. Then she received a letter from them asking her for a formal application so they could officially approve it at their Sept. meeting. This seemed fair. So she sent them a formal application and requested that they contact her attorney if more information was needed. Last week she received a letter from them saying at the September meeting they deferred it to the February Meeting(no reason given).

GOA. Linda received an e-mail last summer from Larry Pratt asking her to send all the bills from her attorney to him so "GOA could keep him afloat". Its been months now and he hasn't received a dime. Her attorney is a man of great integrity but not of great wealth as he has only been in practice for three years.

GOAL. I've saved the best for last. GOAL had Peter McBride at her arraignment. A few weeks later when asked by another member what they were doing to support Linda, they denied knowing anything about the case. They wrote another person a letter saying "Linda was skating up against the edge of illegality." The only explanation I can come up with is that Peter Mcbride believed the copy of the police report he got at her arraignment. Of course the report was filled with lies and fabricated character assasination. But did anyone from GOAL call us (long time GOAL members) to ask if any of it was true? Of course not. We all know the police never lie. In July another member called GOAL and asked them why they weren't supporting Linda? I believe this was, once again, Peter McBride, who stated, It's not true that we aren't going to be supporting her. We are going to discuss what we can do to help her at our August Board of Directors meeting. Of course the origional incident happened in March. She could have used the support for months, instead of fighting this battle with a very small army , at great emotional cost to her. To date Linda has heard nothing. Two days ago another member called Peter McBride and asked for help in the most recent crisis and was told by Peter he would bring it up at the next board of director's meeting. Well Peter now you are cought in the same trap as the COPs and the trucker. When someone chooses to lie, they have to remember the lies they told and who they told them to and when one lies in colusion with others they must also remember the lies the others told. And if they are sequestered, as happens in court, they can't hear the others testify so they are never sure if a new lie was told or an old one forgotten. So it isn't long before their lies catch up with them.

Peter McBride asked told this member that there had been"some derogatory comment on the net." Of course drawing the conclusion that they were true but, once again, never checking with us to see if they were true. The same thing has happened every time this story goes up on the net. 98% of the people "get it" and about 2% draw incorrect conclusions from ass/umtions, misinformation, disinformation and no information. We have pretty much heard them all from why didn't she just get off at the next exit ramp to why didn't she just put the metal to the pedal of her new SUV and get out of his way. Well in fact she wasn't on a highway, she was driving on a village street where the posted speed was 35mph and her new SUV was is, in fact, a 1988 Blazer that is broken as often as it is not. And where does that money go that GOAL asks for every month in the Message entitled donations for the legal defense fund?

I know one thing they will never get another dime from us. When Linda gets the settlements from the multiple cival suits she is going to file this is where the donations will be made:

We now need to bring an additional attorney on board who is a member of The Lawyer's Second Amendment Society but she won't start until she recieves a $5,000.00 retainer. She will not except the empty promises from the gun groups because they have failed her in the past. So the only place we can turn for help are the gunowner's and other Patriotic people who are concerned about the ongoing erosion of the constitution. As one friend so aptly put it. "If Linda wins, we all win." "If Linda loses, we all lose."

Donations, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated, and should be sent directly to either of her attorneys.

Last Sunday we went to the Gun Show in West Springfield to hand out a synopsis of what happened to Linda and a request for help. The man who was running the show stopped us. We tried to get him to understand that if the gunowner's don't learn the truth about what is happening, pretty soon their won't be anymore gun shows. But, alas, he head remained in the sand. So we are also asking that people call or write them in an attempt to get them to "WAKE UP"
